D'Gary

D'Gary, a guitarist from Madagascar, performs at NWFL in 1997 as part of a performance production entitled "African Aesthetic in Two Worlds." This event explored the evolution of African and African-American string instruments, and acoustic and electric guitar styles from both continents.

D'Gary's musical style is influenced by tsapiky, a genre emerging in the 1970s from the southwest region of Madagascar.

D'Gary has collaborated with a number of musicians across the world including Béla Fleck, Miguel de la Bastide
