International Dance Stage
Enjoy Hungarian village music, dance and songs, as Northwest Folklife plays host to the Northwest’s Hungarian community. For 25 years, Kisbetyárok Hungarian Family Dancer Group has continued the village tradition of teaching folk culture to young people with the help and support of the Hungarian American Association of WA. The group has over 50 members from ages 2 through adult. Bokréta Hungarian Dance Ensemble has been performing choreographed Hungarian and Transylvanian village dances since 1993. The Forrás Hungarian
Folk Band has grown to become a driving force in the North American Hungarian folk scene. The band has entertained audiences across Canada and the United States sharing stages with world acclaimed artists such as Márta Sebestyén, Muzsikás, and Dűvő. Their lead fiddler or primas, László Orbán, is a native of Transylvania and one of the most prominent authentic Hungarian and Transylvanian folk musicians in the United States today!
