Labor Program
Saturday, May 23, 7:00 - 10:00 pm
Charlotte Martin Theatre
What was going on in the lives of ordinary working folks during the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific (A-Y-P)? Our centerpiece is a narrative – illustrated with songs of and about these themes and times – which will explore the 20 year window that surrounded the A-Y-P. We start at the end of the 19th century and conclude with the 1919 Seattle General Strike. There will also be two hours of some of the best political music you're likely to find at Folklife.
