Integral to Northwest community life for generations, square dancing is flourishing in today’s urban communities. The idea is simple enough: find a partner and some couples to make sets on the dance floor, give an ear to the caller as they describe the moves, wait for the music and off you go! Don't worry about perfection; it's about having fun with other people. The music can be graceful, fierce, lively, sweet or spooky; it's designed to move you around the floor and keep your spirits up.

The musicians and callers draw upon vast experiences and wide ranging musical interests but common to all is a love of the rich, old fiddle music. Callers Suzanne Girardot, Woody Lane, Sherry Nevins, Charmaine Slaven, Paul Silveria and Tony Mates will keep your feet moving to the lively, varied sounds of The New Greenlake Ramblers, Aunt Hester's Hot Mustard, Cramp Creek Boys, Atlas Stringband and the WaterTower Bucket Boys. Come join us.

In memory of Northwest old-time fiddle legend, Lee Stripling, who passed away this year, the Friends of Lee Stripling will play his favorite dance tunes for a square-dance homage on Sunday afternoon.
